Biography

My passion for theatre began quite by chance in 1987 when I accidentally saw a poster advertising academic courses which I signed on for immediately but without any hope. After completing an entrance test and receiving confirmation this led to my studying for four years at the “Eleonora Duse” Academy in Campobasso and so theatre became a passion that would never abandon me again. From 1991 to 1995 I was a member of the Theatre Company “Maschere Nude – Amici del Teatro Pirandelliano” (Naked Masks – Friends of the Pirandello Theatre Company), primarily performing, on stage, all the works of the Sicilian Master. The experiences I have matured until now are numerous, both in Italy and abroad, and touch every aspect of the Theatre and with a range of very different genres. For some years now shows with a strong impact on conscience have taken over with a passion. The first civil commitment was with the staging of the writings of Hetty Hillesum, which were based on the Holocaust, and the show was also represented at the Italian Institute of Culture in Brussels thanks to the local ANPI section. The production “I love you to Death” is the first work entirely written, directed and performed by Mena. “I wanted to try my hand at writing for the first time and chose a theme that is very close to my heart and that I could unfortunately reveal through real memories of my life. I hope that my work can reach the souls of many people in the hope that this massacre comes to an end “
